    SARS Q&A: EI may compensate victims Ottawa has already announced that workers placed under quarantine can apply for financial assistance. The money will be paid out under a provision of the Employment Insurance Act, which authorizes special benefits for up to 15 weeks for people who are unable to work because of illness, injury or quarantine.
