Equal work, unequal pay By Jonathan J. Higuera
Jerry Acosta, deputy director of the Western region for the AFL-CIO, an umbrella organization for unions, and an Arizona resident, blames the lack of unionized workers for keeping the state's wages lower.
'The real comparison should be against what union workers make,' he said. 'Studies show union workers make 15 to 20 percent more than non-union workers.'
