Settlement suggested By Patrick J. Cronin
That was the day a man claiming to be a police officer called Wendy's in Abington, Whitman, Wareham and West Bridgewater and instructed shift supervisors to strip search their employees because they were suspected of stealing from customers of the fast food establishment.
All four supervisors, including the one at the Abington Wendy's, were duped by the caller and abided by his orders to strip search employees.
According to the complaint that was filed with the MCAD, the Brockton resident said his manager taped cardboard boxes over the office window and ordered him into her office. The female supervisor closed the door and informed him that he was suspected of stealing from a customer's purse and would have to be strip searched.
With her ear up against the phone, the female supervisor told the man to remove all his clothes.
