Carpenters to expand S. Side training center BY FRANCINE KNOWLES, Chicago Sun Times
The Chicago and Northeast Illinois District Council of Carp-enters' center at Cermak and Union opened five years ago with the goal of ensuring that inner-city and minority Chicago area residents had access to training in the skilled building trades.
