Preparing them for successful careers. Cabinet making course at RTI teaches students fundamentals By Bill E. Morrison, Rolla Daily News
'Basically what we do is try to get them ready to go to work out in the field,' Studdard said, adding there's a demand for people who have woodworking skills and good work standards.
Many of the program graduates go on to jobs in St. Louis or nearby communities such as Pacific or Eureka, where they work as members of the Carpenters Union. Studdard said RTI has a strong working relationship with union representatives who serve on the program's advisory council and make frequent visits to talk with students about career opportunities.
'They're wanting all the graduates we can send them,' Studdard said of the union.------------------------------------------- posted 6:50 AM :: reference link ::
