New Zealand: Unions train 6,000 safety reps Union Network International
Six thousand trade union health and safety reps have been trained in just one year in a bid to drive down New Zealand's alarming toll of workplace death and injury. Speaking ahead of international Workers' Memorial Day, Ross Wilson, president of the Council of Trade Unions, said latest figures for New Zealand show 73 workplace deaths between July 2002 and June 2003 - a fatality rate several times that in the UK.------------------------------------------- posted 6:46 AM :: reference link ::
