City wants ousted inspectors to pay big BY FRAN SPIELMAN, Chicago Sun Times
Four Chicago building inspectors accused of falsifying their work histories could be forced to reimburse taxpayers for three times their salaries and the cost of reinspections under lawsuits in the works in response to a hiring scandal.

Instead of seeking the maximum administrative fine of $500, City Hall decided to throw the book at the four young men, two of them sons of Carpenters Union honchos.
