Carhartt will keep 75 jobs in Galesburg - Peoria Journal Star, IL
Costigan held up a Carhartt coat made in Galesburg - the labels says 'UNITE!' on the underside - and another similar-styled brown coat. The tag on the second reads 'Made in China,' and it sells for just over half the price.
'Our competitors are making a much cheaper product that looks like a Carhartt,' Edlin said, pointing at the foreign-made jacket. 'We don't know if we will continue to sew forever in Galesburg or any of our U.S. places because of the competition we face.'------------------------------------------- posted 12:15 PM :: reference link ::
