In the last week, the U.S. Department of Labor also has begun to ask rank-and-file Carpenters about how the PAC operates.
The last two presidents of Local 1005 have faced federal corruption charges. Before Hernandez, Gerry Nannenga pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 18 months in jail as part of the Coffee Creek land scandal.
