David J.AFL-CIO agreement with Harry Kelber - 7.27.2005 Today I reached a compromise agreement in which I was given 3 minutes time to address the AFL-CIO convention in return for which I agreed to give up my candidacy for the Executive Council. I had conducted a campaign for the past two days in which I criticized the activities and policies of the AFL-CIO leadership. Now I will have 3 minutes in which I can express the views about union democracy which is lacking in the American labor movement which is in large part responsible for its decline. Harry
