After the Split - By Roberta Lynch, TPMCafe || House Of Labor
The fact is that the image CtW so relentlessly promulgated of the AFL-CIO unions as fervently resistant to change just doesn't jibe with what actually happened at the convention: reports on sophisticated - and immensely inspiring - global campaigns that link unions in this country with those around the word, especially in developing countries; adoption of a comprehensive plan to bring more women and minorities into leadership at every level; constitutional changes that will foster more organizing by reducing inter-union conflicts; a commitment to forge ahead with a major crusade against Wal-Mart.------------------------------------------- posted 5:02 AM :: reference link ::
