Homeless men paid by union to protest at doctor’s office - Charleston Gazette, WV
The men protesting a local doctor's choice of contractors were not carpenters, as identified in Wednesday's Gazette. Instead, some were men who live at a local shelter, hired by the group staging the protest.
The Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters pay the men $8 per hour to stand outside CAMC Memorial Hospital in Kanawha City for six to eight hours each day and hold a large red sign reading "Shame on M. Zafrullah Khan," said Joe Harmon, an organizer with the council.------------------------------------------- posted 7:50 AM :: reference link ::
