Craftsmen: Remember the labor behind the day - By Dominika Maslikowski, Mohave Daily News, NV
Tim Carlton, organizer for the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, said he'd like to see more of the original spirit of the holiday.
“It started as a day to celebrate labor and it started with labor unions, but now it's a three-day weekend and it's just another day off,” he said. “I think it should be time spent with family and loved ones. I'd like to see more celebration geared toward the original idea of it ... instead of it getting lost in commercialism.”------------------------------------------- posted 4:01 PM :: reference link ::
