Carpenters Union protest turns physical, trucker arrested - Posted By: brynn galindo, KGET 17, CA
The Sheriff's department said the group of protestors was making it difficult for Kilgore to find parking for his trucks, and he got upset.
It occurred outside the Brent R. Schwebel Plastering Company on Highway 65.
The protestors, who are volunteers for the Carpenters Union, are upset over what they call non-payment of wages and benefit standards.
'The Carpenters Union does whatever it takes in order to make sure our contractors are in compliance with the wage and benefit standards,' said Dan MacDonald, Carpenters Union. 'It's not easy getting businesses who don't want to play by the rules, but that's what we do.'------------------------------------------- posted 7:30 AM :: reference link ::
