Pope & Talbot workers reapply for their jobs - By AMY HSUAN, OregonLive.com
On the eve of a sale to an out-of-state investment firm, former Pope & Talbot employees at the Halsey mill started reapplying for their jobs Wednesday.

The new owners are likely to open the mill without a union contract and with outstanding claims pending against the company's old owners, who filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy last month.

The closure of Portland-based Pope & Talbot, a 160-year-old forest products company, left 180 workers unemployed in Halsey, most of whom are still out of work.
