Sympathy for Big Three? Not from this electrician's son - By Bill McClellan, ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
I don't blame the autoworkers or their union for the demise of the American auto industry. As far as I'm concerned, it's all on the bosses. They're the ones who decided to build yesterday's cars for tomorrow's consumers. They opted for gas guzzlers despite the fact that oil is a finite resource, and the demand for oil is on the rise. Much of this increased demand comes from China and India. That trend is going to continue. Even more drilling won't reverse it.
As far as the union's contracts are concerned, that's on the bosses, too. They're the ones who offered them.
Still, I favor a bailout.------------------------------------------- posted 6:44 AM :: reference link ::
