"He Picked on the Wrong F___ing Sister!" - By Anonymous Indymedia User, Columbus Indymedia Center
Several others spoke, including myself. I explained my experience as an expelled member of the carpenters union and drew the parallel between Stern and Carpenters President Doug McCarron. I also made the point that McCarron's centralization of the union went hand in hand with his crawling into bed with the contractors. I also made some points about how a movement like this could change the entire labor movement. This went over very well, but nothing like some of the speakers from the work place floor. Here is a sampling of some of what they said:
'Today is the day we make history…. We're going to trusteeship Andy Stern's ass.'
Another speaker, a middle aged black woman: 'Andy Stern has decided that Corporate American slavery is the way to go. Andy Stern is creating slavery…. Remember what our forefathers did… this is a war that has to be fought.'------------------------------------------- posted 6:50 AM :: reference link ::
