NAFTA Accepts Consumers Amicus Brief Opposing Canadian Softwood Lumber Duties In a significant action that recognizes the legitimate interests of U.S. consumers in trade disputes, a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) bi-national panel has accepted a friend-of-the-court (amicus) brief seeking to overturn 27 percent duties imposed on imports of Canadian softwood lumber.
