Coquihalla HighwayOn Tuesday, the provincial government announced plans to privatize the toll highway, offering potential bidders a 55-year contract.
B.C. Teamsters president Don McGill says a contract that long is an attractive investment for the union's pension fund.
" We are always looking for long-term investments, the longer the better," he says. "And what I see is nothing but potential traffic growth over that period of time."
