Inside the Canadian labour relations system, Victor Pathe has the status of a guru. The former official of the Retail Clerks Union rose to dizzying heights within the system, serving as Ontario's Deputy Minister of Labour and head of the Conciliation and Mediation Office in the 1990's. He now peddles his wares as a private mediator and preaches the gospel of collaboration between labour and capital on the labour relations conference circuit.
