Pulp-mill workers demand more work
Desperate pulp-mill workers in Port Alice barricaded roads into the mill yesterday in a bid to bring public attention to their plight.
Almost 500 workers -- members of the Communication, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada -- have had only a few days' work over the past year and their unemployment benefits will run out within two months.------------------------------------------- posted 12:53 PM :: reference link ::
