Union carpenters walk off job
Carpenters walked off their jobs around Western Washington yesterday, striking over proposed cuts in health benefits during the peak of the construction season.
The strike, which reaches from the Canadian border to Wenatchee, could keep up to 4,000 carpenters from roughly 120 work sites, according to the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters.
