Unions of more than 10,000 local workers reach tentative deals
More than 8,000 members of the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters had walked off the job June 25 in a dispute over health-care coverage in a proposed contract from the Associated General Contractors of Washington, which represented major commercial contractors in the negotiations. Carpenters Union members will vote on the newest contract offer Thursday through Saturday, but returned to work Monday after the tentative deal was reached July 3.
