Parmalat's fall hurts Alaska union By SARANA SCHELL
Stan Hunt, director of the Southern Alaska Carpenters Training Center, said he was glad to hear his pension trust is suing.
'It makes me feel better that somebody's looking into it,' Hunt said, 'toeing the line.
'I'm just like any other union member. As we work, money's paid into our benefits. I have no control over it. That's why we have a trust office,' Hunt said. 'I'm looking toward when I retire. I hope that money's there.'
By bringing suit, Robbins said, the carpenters' pension has the advantage of framing the case to best have a shot at recovering damages, targeting perpetrators who are most able to pay and setting the time period.
