Two of the nation's biggest unions plan to make a renewed pitch, with support from the AFL- CIO, to organize workers at Comcast and Verizon Wireless.
The AFL-CIO, a nationwide federation of unions, has agreed to mount long-term strategic campaigns in support of organizing drives by workers at the cable and wireless companies who are seeking representation by the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
