Wind, rain delay bridge cleanup, I-280 reopening By DAVID PATCH
"We are now not giving dates. We are giving days of crane work because that’s more accurate," the spokesman said. "The contractor does plan to work through the weekend as weather permits. But this week has not been productive for removing debris from the site."
Four workers died and four more were hurt when a truss crane used to erect segments of the $220 million I-280 bridge over the Maumee River collapsed Feb. 16 while being moved.

Less than three weeks after a crane collapse killed four ironworkers building the new I-280 bridge, Mr. Henneman this week became the fourth and last of the surviving injured ironworkers to be released from St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.
Students Donate Lunch Money to Ironworkers WTOL-TV
EAST TOLEDO -- In the weeks since the collapse of a construction truss in the Maumee River Crossing Bridge project, a lot of people have shown the ironworkers their love and support. Students at East Side Central School have even given up their lunch money to help, and Thursday, they had a special check presentation.
"The first day we brought in pennies, all kinds of quarters, but the last day we brought in dollars," said one student at East Side Central. It added up to more than $500. Thursday, students handed over the check to two members of Ironworkers Local 55.------------------------------------------- posted 5:26 AM :: reference link ::
