Wal-Mart workers to vote on unionization By NICOLAS VAN PRAET, Montreal Gazette
Workers at Wal-Mart in Jonquire have to hold a vote to decide whether to unionize, Quebec's Labour Relations Committee has ruled.
If a majority of workers eligible for unionization votes yes, the Jonquire store would become the first unionized Wal-Mart outlet in North America.
A vote is expected to take place in coming weeks. About 180 workers are eligible to cast a ballot, said Josee Lemieux, president of Local 503 of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.------------------------------------------- posted 7:15 AM :: reference link ::
