Air Canada labour deal in dispute By FRANCOIS SHALOM, The Gazette
But the deal was immediately denounced and disavowed by Dave Ritchie, national head of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW), who said Jean Jallet, president of Local 140 of his own union, had "no authority to act on our behalf to deal with the pensions."

"There is no agreement. There will be no vote," said Ritchie, putting him in direct conflict with Jallet, who told hastily convened reporters earlier in the day the tentative deal would be put to a vote on April 12 - and predicted a "very high" ratification margin.
