Ironically at an event at which Scalia was delivering a speech about the U.S. Constitution, none other than a U.S. marshal forced erasure of the tape recordings of the two reporters, believing he was doing so upon the orders of Scalia. The incident produced an outcry among Scalia critics, who've had a field day with the reality of muzzling the press during a speech about the Constitution.
