PLRB Finds PLCB Guilty of Unfair Labor Practice Against ISSU PRNewswire
HARRISBURG, Pa. In a case with ramifications for workers' rights and for the right of ordinary people to express their freedom of speech, the Independent State Store Union (ISSU), successfully filed an unfair labor practice charge against the Rendell Administration.
'This case is about the right of employees to criticize a large and powerful government agency,' said Ed Cloonan, president of ISSU, whose union filed the brief with the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board (PLRB).
Frustrated at not being able to block Cloonan's criticism of their policy, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) sought to punish the union president by denying him statutorily mandated leave to pursue his union duties.------------------------------------------- posted 7:16 AM :: reference link ::
