Trial starts in restaurateur's death By TIM ZATZARINY JR.
Craven was attending a holiday party with fellow members of a local carpenter's union at the Balis family's Adelphia Restaurant when the events leading up to the punch unfolded.
After being told to leave the crowded restaurant for causing a disturbance, the union president, Anthony Macciarella, threw a landscaping stone at a window of the Adelphia.
That set off a fight in the parking lot involving at least 15 Adelphia employees, including several bouncers, according to Belson.
'This was a ball of humanity rolling down the parking lot,' he said. 'Mr. Macciarella was at the bottom.'"
