Steelworker strike averted BY LEE BLOOMQUIST, Duluth News Tribune
Iron Range miners and Northeastern Minnesota residents breathed a collective sigh of relief Wednesday after the United Steelworkers of America and Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. reached a tentative contract agreement.
The agreement -- yet to be ratified by USWA workers -- prevents what could have been a protracted and divisive labor dispute at four taconite plants in Minnesota and Upper Michigan.
