Union urges tougher workplace laws after worker's death ABC Regional Online, Australia
While there has been no suggestion of any wrong doing in this case, Grant Courtney from the Meat Industry Employees Union has taken the opportunity to renew calls for changes to workplace laws in Tasmania.

'Predominantly we're talking about the industrial manslaughter legislation which does need to be passed in this state in the Upper House to ensure that employers, when they are found to be negligible and reckless in conduct towards workers, will be charged in the criminal jurisdiction not the civil jurisdiction,' he said.
