Truck driver’s plea: not guilty BY JONATHAN MUMMOLO, Newsday, NY
On the morning of July 20, Person -- who authorities said drove without a license at least a half-dozen times in recent months -- allegedly slammed a truck into a group of Long Island Carpenters Local 7 members who were at a construction site on Sunrise Highway.
Judge C. Randall Hinrichs ordered Person held in lieu of $500,000 cash bail, the amount recommended by Assistant District Attorney Catherine Loeffler.
Person hit the crowd after 'partying all night and snorting cocaine,' and later referred to the incident as a 'fender-bender' to police, Loeffler said in court.------------------------------------------- posted 6:19 AM :: reference link ::
