The Detroit River Tunnel Partnership, the group behind the project, consists of Canadian Pacific Railway and Borealis Transportation Infrastructure Trust, a subsidiary of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System.
Supporters include UAW International President Ron Gettelfinger, Michigan AFL-CIO President Mark Gaffney and American Axle & Manufacturing CEO Richard E. Dauch, all of whom were present Monday.
