Four Chicago building inspectors accused of falsifying their work histories could be forced to reimburse taxpayers for triple their salaries and benefits and the cost of reinspections under lawsuits filed Friday in response to a hiring scandal.
Instead of seeking the maximum administrative fine of $500, City Hall decided to throw the book at the four young men, two of them sons of Carpenters Union honchos.
