Challenge to Canadian Labour Congress president sparks debate on labour's role By Colin Perkel, Canadian Press The head of the country's 3.2-million-member Canadian Labour Congress is facing the first challenge to his presidency in a contest being framed as a clash between the established union leadership and an activist underdog. While it's unlikely black activist Carol Wall will unseat incumbent Ken Georgetti next month, insiders say her candidacy reflects a grassroots desire by some radical union members for more visible militancy.
