    76 demonstrators arrested at NYU protest - By Luis Perez, New York Newsday
    Seventy-six demonstrators were arrested Wednesday at a silent protest by New York University graduate students, organizers and police officials said.

    Among those arrested for blocking a row of doors at the Bobst Library about 1 p.m. yesterday were John Sweeney, president of the AFL-CIO labor union, and State Sen. Tom Duane (D-Manhattan). Dozens of graduate teaching and research assistants also were arrested.
