Safety shortcuts are a detour to disaster - By Joy Davia, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, NY
Charles Morgan knows the dangers of construction work all too well.
In 1991, Morgan slipped on a piece of scrap felt paper and fell 30 feet off a house's roof. He shattered his heels, lower legs and ankles and was laid up for almost two years.
The irony?
