What to Expect from AFL-CIO’s New Plan For 10-Union Industry-Wide Coordination - LaborTalk by Harry Kelber Oct. 12
It's unrealistic to think that a 10-union committee (with each union having its own agenda and self-interest) could establish a consensus on all aspects of an organizing campaign. Rival Groups ‘Agree in Principle’ to Allow CTW Unions to Join AFL-CIO Local Bodies - LaborTalk by Harry Kelber Oct. 19
There is renewed hope that local unions affiliated with the Change to Win coalition will rejoin their respective AFL-CIO state federations and central labor councils, after leaders of the two rival groups affirmed that they had reached an "agreement in principle" on Oct. 17 to allow such re-affiliations via Solidarity Charters. The returning CTW locals would enjoy full voting and participation rights.
