2 workers hurt in building collapse - By David Paulsen, Poughkeepsie Journal, NY
Through interviews, investigators determined the workers had been on the platforms about 20 feet in the air, placing metal trusses at the east end of the structure. When trusses at the west end of the structure fell, it created a chain reaction that trapped both both workers, police said.
A crane operator told police the collapse was caused by a gust of wind.
Construction of the new building was in a structural phase at the time of the collapse. The building was little more than a foundation and red and silver interlocking beams, many of which dropped into the middle of the site Wednesday.------------------------------------------- posted 5:04 AM :: reference link ::
