Delphi to pay board in cash - BY JASON ROBERSON, Detroit Free Press
But Delphi's blue-collar workers, who are threatening to strike over the company's plan to eliminate 24,000 of their 34,000 jobs and cut the pay for those who remain by more than half, may see the change as yet another example of their leaders taking care of themselves.

Those employees and their union leaders already have criticized the $3-million signing bonus given Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Steve Miller, new contracts with richer severance pay for the company's top 21 executives and a pledge to give 600 managers $400 million in bonuses if they stick with Delphi until it emerges from bankruptcy.

'Well hell, I want my cash up front too,' said Gregg Shotwell, a Delphi hourly worker from Grand Rapids."
