The Teamsters, along with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Union Local 38 voluntarily froze $1.50 hourly wage hikes for two consecutive years as an added measure to help keep Cobo Center competitive, Moore said.
“I’m trying to maintain jobs in the city of Detroit,” he said. “I’m not going to cost my guys out of the market.”
The Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights, Ironworkers Local Union No. 25, the Detroit Stage Employees Union and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 58 were the other unions involved.
