Northland unions choose to stick together - BY JANE BRISSETT, Duluth News Tribune
Four union locals that left the AFL-CIO last year with their national unions have returned officially to the Duluth AFL-CIO Central Labor Body.
Carpenters Local 361 and Unite HERE Locals 99 and 150 recently received so-called Solidarity Charters that allow them to be full-fledged members of the Central Labor Body. Service Workers International Union Local 956 has an approved charter that hasn't yet been received in Duluth.
According to the agreements, they have all the privileges of local membership but they are not members of the national AFL-CIO.------------------------------------------- posted 7:20 AM :: reference link ::
