Dewey Workers on ABC's ''Extreme Makeover: Home Edition'' Construction Site Made It Happen Despite Rain, Cold and Tight Deadline - Business Wire "The cooperation was like nothing I've ever seen in my life," commented Ken Dewey of Dewey Companies, who oversaw the entire project. "Nobody complained. Everyone helped each other, whether the work needing to get done was their specialty or outside their trade. Union and non-union carpenters worked side by side. The level of cooperation was astonishing." Members of numerous locals from the Carpenters Union of Philadelphia volunteered round the clock to get the house framed and the roof sheathed, according to carpenter Jerry Coughlin. "Many members came to volunteer at the site after they finished their day job," he said. In addition, apprentice carpenters volunteered their time to assist.
