Ledcor in Hawaii: Use of Non-Union Workers Protested - KGMB9, HI
About 30 union workers protested Friday at the construction site. They don't have a problem with the building, but say the way it's being built could set a dangerous precedent for local workers.
Specifically, it's who will be building the Pinnacle condos that has these protesters upset. The contractor, Ledcor - U.S. Pacific Construction, is hiring non-union workers from out of state. Because it's a private project, Ledcor is allowed to pay them much less if it chooses.------------------------------------------- posted 6:30 AM :: reference link ::
