Two Leading L.I. Labor Unions Launch New Coalition - Business Wire (press release)
The Operating Engineers L.U. 138 and the Empire State Regional Council of Carpenters announced they will spearhead a new association, called the Long Island Construction Labor Alliance, to capture more than $2 billion of building and construction volume that is being overlooked by the larger bodies of organized labor and members of the AFL-CIO. A spokesman for the Long Island Construction Labor Alliance said the new association will be headquartered in Hauppauge and will continue to participate in joint industry activities as part of the Building & Construction Trades Council of Long Island, Inc. The leadership of two labor unions pledged to work together to capture more employment for their combined membership of 5,000 men and women.------------------------------------------- posted 7:23 AM :: reference link ::
