Drywaller strike disrupts Portland work sites - By Brent Hunsberger, OregonLive.com
Union drywallers continued their strike this morning, though at Portland's South Waterfront, the pickets appeared to be less effective at keeping other workers off the job than they were Friday.
Adam Bonner, project manager for Hoffman Construction at South Waterfront, said about half the workforce at Block 38 went to work this morning, compared to about 10 percent Friday. Members of several building unions -- including ironworkers, electricians, plumbers, plasterers and glaziers -- went to work, Bonner said, even as picketing members of the Carpenters Union called them 'scabs' and 'rats.'------------------------------------------- posted 5:59 AM :: reference link ::
