Stores have Labour Day option - By AMY SMITH, The Halifax Herald
"It (sic) find it rather strange that we have a holiday that was there to acknowledged the workers in our province and yet now we’re putting them back to work," Mr. McNeil said.
Opposition Leader Darrell Dexter said the decision to let stores open on Labour Day is "riddled with irony."
"This is the very day on which people are given a day off in order to celebrate and appreciate the work that they do for the rest of the year, and yet that is being taken away from them."
The NDP leader said most jurisdictions in the country protect statutory holidays.------------------------------------------- posted 5:52 AM :: reference link ::
