Agent Orange deal 'flawed'; Local activist says timeline is too narrow - Posted By Ian Elliot, The Whig Standard, Ontario, Canada
While she said the idea of settling with those affected by the spray is a positive step in theory, the amount of compensation is much less than that offered by the governments of New Zealand and the United States, for example, where lifetime care for affected servicepeople and their families is offered.
She says the government owes the ex-service members more, in part because they were serving their country when they were exposed.
'They killed these people on their own home bases,' she said."
